Stuart disguises himself as a girl, though his dress gets ripped (revealing his pink knickers which came with the disguise), which forces him to hide in a flower pot out of embarrassment. Stuart is present along with Dave when Gru works undercover as the owner of a cupcake shop in the Paradise Mall. Stuart and Phil both make fun of the AVL's director, Silas Ramsbottom, because the last part of his last name has the word "bottom", a word that Minions love to have fun with. The duo chases after Lucy's car, causing minor havoc in the process, and they end up following her to the AVL after being abducted by her. Stuart and Phil are cleaning up from Agnes' party when they see Gru being abducted by Lucy. Stuart is also seen laughing at butts with Tom and Jorge. He is also seen moaning and cheering (when heard that it's not for them) when Gru talks briefly about bedtime. Ultimately, he ends up playing with the girls, throwing toilet paper around in the living room. Stuart and Jerry are asked by Gru to watch Margo, Edith, and Agnes, and keep them away from him. Also, he was said to be always hungry in Minions, such as when he attempted to eat Kevin and Bob when he was thinking of them as bananas, and even tried to sing a yellow fire hydrant in New York, thinking that it was a female minion. He is considered to be a slacker among the other Minions, preferring to chill out and play the ukulele than listen to the rules. He also seems to have a rebellious and obstreperous attitude. He can also be the most sincere and innocent out of all the minions. He is skillful at video games like his friend Dave. Stuart is playful, friendly, intelligent and funny. In Despicable Me 2, he is seen dressed up as a girl after Gru is recruited by the Anti-Villain League and sent to Bake My Day to investigate. But Scarlet is still alive and returns to steal the crown, only to be stopped by young Gru, who takes the crown and gains the minions as his servants.Stuart is a one-eyed short Minion with combed hair. Kevin, Stuart and Bob are rewarded by the Queen. Kevin swallows Scarlet's rocket but prevents her escape, blowing her up and returning Kevin to his size.
He saves Stuart and Bob while battling Scarlet, while the rest of the minions arrive. Kevin escapes and stumbles onto Herb's secret weapon, which transforms him into a gigantic minion. Scarlet sends the other villains from Villain Con after the minions. But again theiy bodge it, as instead they crash an ancient chandelier onto Scarlet's head. But somehow the minions are immune to the torture equipment and they sneak back into Scarlet's coronation ceremony to apologize. But Scarlet instead sends them to a torture chamber. They happily give the crown and the kingship to Scarlet. Scarlet is infuriated by this and visits the minions. With gadgets from Scarlet's husband Herb, the minions succeed in stealing the crown but get caught red handed so they run from capture, until Bob accidentally releases the sword in the stone from the Excalibur legends. She tasks the minions to steal the royal crown from Queen Elizabeth of Britain. The minions follow Scarlet to her castle and Kevin phones his fellow minions to come. Bob accidentally wins the contest to become Scarlet's henchman. There they see Scarlet Overkill, then the worlds most notorious villain, who turns out to be seeking henchmen. Hitching a ride with the Nelsons, who turn out to be villains also, the minions reach Villain Con.

They arrive in New York and after some time wandering around they find a secret villain TV channel that announces the Villain Con in Orlando. He gets Stuart and Bob as his companions. A minion Kevin decides to go to the outside world to find a master. But as time passes they lose spirit in living because they don't have a master. One day they find themselves isolated in an ice cavern and thrive as a tribe. The change from master to master is due to the fact that they often cause their masters' demise.
